“David worked with the University of Utah Provost, the volunteer Advisory Board of the Utah Museum of Fine Arts (including key donors) and myself to rethink the governance protocols for the Museum during a difficult period of transition between executive directors. David led the key stakeholders through a retreat and other processes aimed at clarifying the respective oversight responsibilities of the University and the Museum Advisory Board. David’s long experience in the governance of nonprofit cultural institutions (university-affiliated and not) translated into a set of fiduciary and financial recommendations that greatly stabilized the Museum over the long term, including its staff and volunteer leadership.”
